Program will provide data-driven energy procurement and consulting solutions to SFA members

Salisbury, Md., June 1, 2015—The Snack Food Association announced its endorsement of APPI Energy to provide data-driven procurement and consulting solutions to members. The endorsement strengthens the SFA mission to fuel and reinforce value for SFA members by offering services in support of industry growth and dynamic relevance.

“A major operating expense for snack food manufacturers and suppliers is energy supply,” said Walter Moore, President and CEO of APPI Energy. “The APPI Energy team of experts operates in all deregulated states and markets, and maintains a proprietary database of real-time electricity prices that supports customized apples-to-apples analysis of competitive supplier prices.”

SFA members now have access to the APPI Energy database of daily supplier prices, and benchmark pricing. “For more than 75 years, SFA has provided education regarding technological advances, consumer trends, and regulatory measures,” said Tom Dempsey, Chief Executive Officer of SFA. “The APPI Energy proprietary platform gives SFA members the edge to make smart, customized purchasing decisions.” APPI Energy will contact SFA members with data-driven procurement and consulting solutions that reduce and manage electricity and natural gas costs.
