Nonprofit statewide association of public school boards endorses energy procurement consulting firm
Salisbury, MD, February 8, 2016—The Pennsylvania School Boards Association (PSBA) announced its endorsement of consulting firm APPI Energy. APPI Energy provides data-driven energy procurement solutions for PSBA members to reduce and manage electricity and natural gas costs on an immediate and ongoing basis.
“Every day, APPI Energy identifies the wide range of energy supplier prices across Pennsylvania, and the lowest prices available among many vetted, competing suppliers,” said Walter Moore, President and CEO of APPI Energy. “Recommendations to PSBA members regarding when to buy energy, and which contract length is best, are based on extensive data analytics and vast transaction experience.” In addition to procurement solutions, APPI Energy can help PSBA members benefit from energy sales tax exemption, and rebates and financial incentives for energy efficiency measures.
“Our endorsement of APPI Energy fits well with our mission to empower and provide vital tools to elected school board members,” said Nathan Mains, Executive Director of PSBA. APPI Energy will present a webinar on March 17, 2016, to provide an overview of the partnership to PSBA members.

About Pennsylvania School Boards Association
The Pennsylvania School Boards Association is a nonprofit statewide association of public school boards. Founded in 1895, PSBA has a rich history as the first school boards association established in the U.S. Pennsylvania’s 4,500 school directors become members by virtue of election to their local board—the board joins as a whole. Membership in PSBA is by school district or other eligible local education agency such as intermediate unit, vocational school, or community college. Over the past several decades, voluntary membership by local school entities has been virtually 100%.
