FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Statewide trade association representing Maine nursing and residential care facilities endorses energy procurement consulting firm

Salisbury, MD, November 16, 2016—The Maine Health Care Association (MHCA) announced its endorsement of consulting firm APPI Energy to reduce and manage electricity and natural gas costs on an ongoing basis for members. The largest advocacy organization for facility-based long term care providers in Maine, MHCA joins the American Health Care Association and several state-based health care and long-term care associations that endorse APPI Energy to provide data-driven procurement solutions. The program fits well with the MHCA commitment to advance the financial stability of its members.

“Every day, APPI Energy reviews energy supplier prices across Maine, and identifies the lowest prices available among many reliable, competing suppliers,” said Walter Moore, President and CEO of APPI Energy. “Recommendations to MHCA members regarding when to buy energy, and which contract length is best, are based on extensive data analytics and 20 years of transaction experience,” said Moore. This includes evaluation of current supply contracts, proprietary price analytics, energy tariff analysis, regulatory tracking, and complete customer service.

“MHCA’s endorsement of the APPI Energy program provides cost management solutions that enable members to focus on meeting the needs of Maine’s older and disabled populations,” said Richard Erb, President & CEO of MHCA.
