FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Global authority on pumps and pumping systems selects energy procurement consulting firm

Salisbury, MD, September 26, 2016—The Hydraulic Institute (HI) announced its subscription to consulting firm APPI Energy’s program to provide data-driven procurement solutions that manage electricity and natural gas costs on an ongoing basis for members. HI has taken a leading role in representing the pump industry in negotiating fair and appropriate regulations designed to achieve energy savings goals. Delivering additional value to membership, the HI program with APPI Energy is designed to provide savings on the services that members need and use every day—electricity and natural gas. Manufacturers consume one-third of all energy consumed in the U.S.

“APPI Energy helps 2,300 clients, 40% of which are U.S. manufacturers,” said Walter Moore, President and CEO of APPI Energy. “Out of the 140 associations that have partnered with APPI Energy, 30 specialize in the U.S. manufacturing industry. Our team of advisors understands that HI members wear many different hats. We focus on energy procurement, so members can concentrate on their core competency.”

HI members receive access to the APPI Energy proprietary database of daily energy supplier pricing. APPI Energy’s advisors benchmark historical and real-time energy supply prices in every deregulated market, and identify the lowest price among competing suppliers. “Recommendations to HI members regarding when to buy energy, and which contract length is most advantageous, are based on data, analytics, and 20 years of expertise,” said Michael Michaud, Executive Director of HI. Members can learn more during a 30-minute webinar on October 11, 2016, at 12:30 PM. Register here.
