Statewide nonprofit association endorses energy procurement consulting firm

Salisbury, MD, March 28, 2016—The Community Action Association of Pennsylvania (CAAP) announced its endorsement of consulting firm APPI Energy to provide data-driven procurement solutions to community action agencies in the Commonwealth. APPI Energy will work with CAAP members to reduce and manage electricity and natural gas costs on an ongoing basis.

“Providing this energy procurement benefit program through APPI Energy to the 41 community action agencies that CAAP represents will allow members to focus on issues of poverty, self-sufficiency, and community development, while a team of experts focuses on energy management,” said Susan A. Moore, Chief Executive Officer of CAAP.  The CAAP mission is to help people help themselves and each other.

“Every day, APPI Energy identifies the lowest prices available among many vetted, competing energy suppliers in Pennsylvania,” said Walter Moore, President and CEO of APPI Energy. “Our firm also helps community action agencies in the Commonwealth benefit from energy sales tax exemption, and rebates and financial incentives for energy efficiency measures.” APPI Energy currently manages 8.7 billion kilowatt hours of electricity and 12.4 million dekatherms of natural gas for 2,310 clients.
